Narrative
Following the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, attempts to take over Gotham’s crime scene. With the exception of the Bat-Signal in the final shot of the season finale, we never got ours. Robert Pattinson starred in the film “Penguin.” With this short IMDb video, he tries to answer: Where the hell was Batman?. Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of the Penguin to light up in Batman (2022), but he failed.
Farrell STEALS this show
The DC Studios logo is set in a rainy Gotham alley. The umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Starring Graham Norton and guest stars: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024).
The presentation is gritty and graphic
He’s impressive. There’s nothing about the character that even hints at Farrell. The New York accent, the sway and limp, the posture: you’d swear it was a different person. The amazing prosthetics are very realistic and add character.
Well-written and concise
There’s nothing cartoonish about it. It’s a great match for Christopher Nolan’s Batman. In fact, I’d say it blows the Marvel line out of the water. It’s a shame they didn’t make a second season, but I know this one is limited.
