Car Reviews 2026 Hyundai Trajet 2 0 Diesel

I recently hired one of these for a short trip to the coast. Here’ s what I made of it: The first thing I noticed about this car is its looks — or rather lack of them. With styling borrowed heavily from the Ford Galaxy it’s not exactly original or inspiring. However, this sort of vehicle is usually purchased for its functionality rather than aesthetics, so it is perhaps an unfair criticism. Likewise, the interior is pretty much what you’d expect from a car in this class with my back seat (or rather middle seat) passengers reporting sufficient space to feel comfortable. Don’t expect much boot space if you are using the back two seats either — you can carry plenty of people but only if they travel light! The dashboard is logical enough, with everything pretty much where you would expect to find it. Again, styling wise, it’s OK without being earth shatteringly brilliant. However, towards the end of my journey the clock switched off or stopped working — I’m not sure which. Not too serious but annoying nonetheless. What else might suddenly decide to stop working?Unfortunately, I ended up with the diesel engine. I’m still not convinced by diesel engines. Yes, they’re much better than they used to be but every diesel I’ve ever driven, with the exception of the Volkswagen Bora, still chugs away noisily. As a result, not only does this car looks like a minibus it sounds like one too. It also drives like one. Its big and cumbersome and feels slow. It will accelerate if you floor it, but in an urban environment it is not very responsive. What’s more the accelerator feels very springy almost as if you are pressing your foot down on a rubber ball. It’s quite frankly, horrible. If I’m honest, it’s not really an enjoyable drive. This is the first MPV I’ve driven but I’ve got a family so I’m potentially in the market for one. However,I hope others are better than this otherwise I’ll be sticking with a saloon. May I suggest an alternative name — the Hyundai Tragic?
