There’s no doubt about it, the Hummer H2 is an enormous and powerful off road machine. However, it is also a vehicle that appeals to a certain type of individual. While some may see the Hummer as big and beautiful, others are less inclined to think that way. It is certainly a large car, and that factor alone can sway a buyers decision one way or the other as to whether to purchase one or not. The Hummers 6,614 pounds worth of body weight has advantages, but it can also be an issue depending on what the vehicle will be used for. The 6.2-liter V8 engine has 393 horsepower, that’s all the power that is needed to move the weight of the vehicle with ease. Even though it has a muscular exterior, the Hummer H2 can still pull off an impressive 8.0 seconds when tested from 0 — 60. Although the handling is very good it can be cumbersome to drive on a daily basis. Of course, you are not going to get decent gas mileage with this big beast. In fact, the H2 is exempt from EPA fuel economy testing because of its weight. Seating in the front of the H2 seems to be comfortable enough, but the second and third row are cramped. Especially the third row, which has been described as a seating area only suitable for kids. Updated features for the interior include, a standard Bose system with XM Satellite Radio and optional surround sound. One of the most valued interior gadgets is the standard rearview camera, which is on a small, square LCD display that pops out of the right side of the large, square rearview mirror. With an SUV style car this big you really need a little help on the parking side, and the camera is an excellent solution. Cargo space is not what is expected for a vehicle of this type, it is rather disappointing to say the least. Hummer claim that there is 90 cubic feet of space, but a lot of the area is actually not able to be used due to the spare tire being mounted on a massive swing-away rear carriage. Even more unbelievable is the amount of space when all the seats are in use, which leaves 5.8 cubic feet, even a Mini Cooper can do just as well as that. You can expect to pay around $61,000 for the Hummer, it comes in a couple of models, the 4-door wagons or 4-door crew-cab trucks, called the SUT. GM is phasing out the Hummer brand and very little were actually built for 2010. Although if you are in the market for a Hummer H2 they are still around and available for purchase.
